Hello, anyone who still remembers me. I'm ashamed to say that I've not submitted a manipulation in over two years, two whole years!
At the start of the summer, I decided that I really wanted to get back into manipulating, but I can tell you that after a two-year break it's hard. All summer I've been starting pieces and never finishing them; backgrounds here, painted horses there, manes and eyes dotted about everywhere, but I never got round to actually finishing anything, nevermind uploading anything! I think as well as losing my technique somewhat, I'd lost my nerve a little too. I just couldn't seem to be quite happy with a piece, comfortable in feeling that it's complete and so I've just been moving on to a new piece, hoping for a different outcome. My WIP folder contains over thirty pieces, my finished folder just one.
With university imminently arriving once more, I told myself that I had to finish and upload at least on of those WIPs. So here it is, the single manipulation in my finished folder. There's no huge story with this one, other than I think it was started whilst I was watching tangled, hence the rapunzel theme.
I'd really welcome some critique so I can work out where my technique has gone to pot, and where I've maybe salvaged something from the depths of 2013 so I can decide what I need to work on perhaps bring some of the other summer WIP pieces into my finished folder.
