I decided to take a break from DeviantArt, and art in general, during my as and A levels because I needed (or thought I needed to) focus on my studies.

Focus, I did. That was good. Pass, I did. That was good too.

But I did not intend to be gone so completely and for so long!

It's been two and a half years, two and a half yearssince I last uploaded a piece of artwork to Deviantart. Two and a half years!?

I have carried on with art, I've branched out into different techniques and subject matter, I've even illustrated three books.
But I've missed DeviantArt and I've missed equine manipulation.
I've missed all of the brilliant artists and beautiful artworks and my wonderful watchers and getting support and feedback on my work.
I've missed it all a lot!

So here I am nearly three years later and about to embark on another set of exams.
But I really can't stay away any longer; somewhere amongst piles of books, endless revision, a horse to ride and work to be done I have to make time for my artwork.

Thank you so much to everyone who still watches me, and to come back to find new watches and people still favouriting and commenting on my work and still using my tutorials was just amazing!
I really hope to start uploading soon, both some of my new stuff, and to get back into making equine manipulations because I've missed them so much (though I might be a bit rusty at first, so you'll have to bear with me!)

I'm keen to get back involved with groups too, particularly the ones of which I'm still an admin (thank you all for not removing me despite my inactivity!!)

So hopefully I'll be around a lot more now!

I also created a book cover recently, which should hopefully be published soon. So if all goes well, I'll be able to put the funds from that towards a new premium membership (I feel DA-naked without one!! =p

Just back from another holiday...

Well I knew I was going to be busy this summer but I didn't realise quite how busy! I've just come back from a week away in Scotland working on an archaeological dig which was incredibly interesting, but unfortunately had no internet access, hence my apparent disappearance last week.
So anyway, what about my art? Well I do actually have four work in progress pieces at the moment, it's just getting the time to finish them. I've just been asked by the author of the book I illustrated to do the sequel, which I'm very grateful for but it is going to take up a lot of time. Also I've just had my as results which I'm over the moon about but they have confirmed that I will be applying to Cambridge uni in September which again means a lot of work and time. So for the next few month you might not see too much work from me, but I will still be active voting in groups and so on.
That aside...

I actually can't believe something I made quite quickly out of boredom has been so popular! Thank you everyone who has supported it and I hope you all still find it useful!
I will do an artwork feature soon, promise!

Very sorry for my recent inactivity... again!

On Monday my wifi at home went down so I rang my internet company and after being given what seemed like a tour of India by phone and visits by a plethora of engineers nobody seems to know what is wrong hence my apparent disappearance. Today I finally resorted to setting up my mobile broadband to access the internet but this is incredibly slow because where I live is terrible for phone signal. Therefore I am currently sat with my laptop outside on a makeshift table because this is the only place I can get any
signal, just a good job it isn't raining! It has taken an nearly hour just to get onto the internet and to load deviantart so although I have some access to the internet I'm afraid I will still be very inactive until I get my wifi back. I'm really sorry to anyone who has sent me a note, comment or question but I don't know how quickly I will be able to get back to you because my deviantart messages are loading at glacial speed but I will try my best to reply as soon as I can. I'm also terribly sorry to all the groups I am a contributor/co-founder of but I can't take part in voting until I get my wifi back because at this rate I cannot load images at all. I am speaking to another engineer tomorrow, so I'm really hoping my internet will be fixed by then, but to be honest with you the way things are looking it would be days even weeks before my wifi is fixed.
I very much hope I will be back soon!

Sorry For The Recent Inactivity

I know I've not been very active recently but hopefully now, or at least after next week I will be more active I know I keep saying this but I really mean it this time... hopefully.

This week I've had work experience which was a 7am start and 5pm finish meaning I was up at 5:30 and not home until 6, so when I got home I'm afraid it was tea-shower-bed so no time for Deviantart. The week before I was on a duke of Edinburgh expedition so camping and walking in mountains for four days; needless to say I had no internet.

Among all this there has been the matter of Ruby; thank you for all you kind messages of hope for her but unfortunately last week she had to be put to sleep. The vets did everything they could but as we thought the post-mortem concluded that she did have grass sickness. For those of you who don't know; grass sickness is a rare but incurable disease that paralyses the digestive system, it mainly effects young horses, most die suddenly within 24 hours but rarely horses (like Ruby) may go down over several weeks and some of these cases may have a chance of survival. The cause is still unknown, there is no way of prevention and it is practically impossible to diagnose until after death. There is only a 5% survival rate and despite our best efforts Ruby didn't pull through. The equine hospital she was at is involved in a nation wide research scheme, this meant she was part of the research and the vets visited where we kept her and took samples from the other horses she was in the field with, all of whom were unaffected by grass sickness, so although I lost my pony I hope that the vets may have learnt something from her death and someday a cure or way of prevention will be found for this horrible disease.

Anyway, on a more positive note I am working on a few pieces at the moment so I should hopefully have some more work up soon.

Wow What a Half Term...

Well, mid-way through exams I was hoping for a week of free time to make some pieces, get out riding, get some horse stock of my pony; it was going to be a great week.
And then...
Went to the field last Wednesday, pony didn't look well, called the vet, don't know what's wrong. This happened again on Friday and Sunday until we called another vet out on Monday; she took bloods and refereed us to Leahurst. So now my poor little Ruby is in intensive care attached to a drip with suspected grass sickness and no certain future, not the half term of riding I'd planned.
Also...
My mum is currently recovering from an operation on her eye, my dad has been bitten by some unknown insect that has made half his face swell up and Ruby trod on my foot when we were unloading her after having a major coughing fit so now I've got a green and purple swollen foot.

So yeah, not been able to do as much as I'd planned and all of a sudden it's the end of the week and I've got an exam Monday morning

Anyway, here are some of my favourite pieces I've seen this past week
